Senior Java Consultant / Instructor

We currently have an opening for a senior Java consultant/instructor.

Responsibilities include:

Perform requirements gathering, analysis, design, coding, implementation, testing, and maintenance of software as required by client projects.
Participate in peer reviews including design reviews and code reviews.
Provide customer training in the use of software.
Teach Java courses (listed in the training section of this site).
Work with students individually during lab time as needed, with special attention to any student(s) who may be having difficulty.
Write and edit training materials including lecture notes and class exercises.
Review and edit existing course materials as needed.
Interview prospective students to determine their suitability for JFastTrack training,

At a minimum, the successful candidate will:

Possess a deep understanding of the Java language and platform.
Possess a deep understanding of related technologies including databases, object-oriented analysis and design, UML, networking, web programming, and enterprise architectures.
Have experience with relevant tools, including JDK 5, and JUnit.
Be a Sun Certified Java Programmer.
Have a minimum of 20 years of experience in computer programming and related technologies.
Have a minimum of 5 years of experience with the Java platform.
Have strong inter-personal communication skills, including fluency in English.
Have a constant attitude of patience and support for each student and team member.
Have a desire to share knowledge with students and fellow project team members.

Most of our training is done in Somerset, NJ. The applicant who fills this position must also be open to limited travel to client sites as needed.

Teaching Assistant

We currently have an opening for a teaching assistant.

Responsibilities include:

Working with students individually during lab time, with special attention to any student(s) who may be having difficulty.
Grade student assignments.
Assist in preparations for each day's session.
Assist in preparation of student assignments.
Provide any other assistance that the instructor might require.

The successful candidate will:

Have a strong understanding of the Java language and platform (SCJP preferred).
Have strong inter-personal communication skills, including fluency in English.
Have a constant attitude of patience and support for each student.
Live within commuting distance of Somerset, NJ
